Career
From 1976 to 1979, Kaity Tong worked as a reporter for KPIX-TV in San Francisco, followed by being named co-anchor of newscasts on KCRA-TV in Sacramento, California, in December 1979. She then joined WABC-TV in New York City in 1981 and was later promoted to co-anchor, collaborating with Tom Snyder and Ernie Anastos. Additionally, she appeared as a newscaster for television series and films such as Spider-Man, City Hall, Marci X, and Night Falls on Manhattan.
In 1992, she became the station’s primary female anchor and remains employed there. She has received accolades including the Star award from Rotary International and the New York Women’s Agenda, as well as the Distinguished Woman award from the Chinese-American Planning Council.
