The band Senses Fail originated when Garrett Zablocki posted an online advertisement to recruit members. Buddy responded to this ad, and the pair began collaborating on songwriting. Dave Miller and James Gill soon joined the band, but due to a disagreement, James was replaced by Mike Glita. The band’s name, Senses Fail, was inspired by the Hindu concept of detachment by allowing one’s senses to fail. The band started gaining local popularity and eventually started recording songs. In 2002, they released the EP “From the Depths of Dreams” through ECA Records, which was well-received. A year later, they were signed to Drive-Thru Records. Another EP was reissued and found some success, leading to the band embarking on tours.

Neilsen and the band then collaborated on their debut album, “Let It Enfold You,” with the label Vagrant Records, which became a success in the United States, selling 400,000 copies. The album spawned two popular songs, including “Buried a Lie.” This propelled the band into mainstream attention, and their net worth soared. They toured extensively to promote the release and performed alongside popular bands such as My Chemical Romance. In 2005, the album was reissued, after which Dave Miller left the band and was replaced by Heath Saraceno.

After a break, they worked on their second album titled “Still Searching,” which had less aggressive songs compared to their previous work. The song “Can’t Be Saved” was featured in the video game “Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock”. The band once again went on tour to support the album.

Buddy then steered the release of the album “Life Is Not a Waiting Room” for Senses Fail, which led to another round of touring in 2008. Two years later, they produced another album called “The Fire,” released through Hassle Records. In 2011, they began working on an album titled “Follow Your Bliss: The Best of Senses Fail,” comprising music from their previous album and four new songs. The following year, they concentrated on another full-length album called “Renacer,” which was released in 201, after which Buddy delved into several side projects, including one with the band Speak The Truth… Even If Your Voice Shakes.

In 2016, Nielsen worked on an acoustic EP with Senses Fail. The band continues to tour and produce music.

In his personal life, it is known that Buddy has grappled with sexual addiction, anxiety, and depression, as revealed in interviews. However, he has recently expressed a desire to spend his life with his girlfriend, whose identity remains undisclosed. His mother is actress Lisa Brown, who directed several Senses Fail music videos, including “Buried a Lie.”
