Mentally unstable man allegedly machetes worshipper in church during deliverance

The deliverance session at a church in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State turned violent when a mentally unstable man allegedly attacked a worshipper with a machete. According to reports, the man grabbed a cutlass from the church altar and wounded the worshipper during the service. The victim was promptly taken to a hospital where they are said to be making progress.

A source narrated that the church leader had offered to heal the mentally unstable man through prayers. However, during the session, the man engaged in a struggle with the pastor and other members of the church, leading to the violent incident. The assailant has since been taken to a hospital for psychiatric evaluation and treatment.

The state police command confirmed the incident in a statement, acknowledging that the church leader had attempted to heal the mentally unstable man through prayers. The police also stated that the assailant’s family members are currently being questioned while the investigation continues.
