BIOGRAPHY
Born to a father who was a biology researcher at the University of Kansas and a mother who was a nutritionist, James Marsden first studied journalism at Oklahoma State University . It was during these years of study that he finally discovered his career path: being an actor. He quickly proves that he can be as comfortable in popular teen movies such as Disturbing Behaviors (1998) or False Rumors (2000) as in the credits of small independent productions ( The 24th day ).

But the real detonator of his career remains X-Men where he plays the powerful Cyclops, soon followed by a recurring role in the series Ally McBeal . After an appearance in the wacky Zoolander signed by Ben Stiller , James Marsden re-dons the costume and laser of the mutant Cyclops in X-Men 2 (2003) and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006). At the same time, he continues his journey in the universe of superheroes with Superman Returns , which allows him to reunite with the director of the first two parts of the X-Men saga : Bryan Singer . If he continues to explore the vein of comedy as highlighted by his performances in 27 Dresses or the musical Hairspray , he is asked by Richard Kelly for the SF thriller The Box , in which he plays opposite Cameron Diaz .
