How a Church Leader Forgave His Wife After Infidelity
Admitting to infidelity, a theologian shared that it was his wife’s repentance that saved their marriage.
He confessed to having an affair in 2006. When his wife discovered it, she acknowledged her own wrongdoing, describing it as “withholding”, which allegedly led him to be unfaithful to her.
According to him, it was her repentance and accountability that ultimately kept their marriage intact.
Gary M. Parcel, the author of ‘Priest & Leader’, added that he was the one who forgave his wife for his own infidelity, crediting his commitment to forgiveness.
He explained, “When I had my affair in 2006, my wife and I were able to reconcile because of her willingness to accept the sin of withholding that lured me into such a situation. We are still married today because of her repentance and accountability. Praise God!”
One follower commented, “Your willingness to forgive her is a commendable example of marital leadership.”
To which the author responded, “Yes, Wendell! Very true. I always want to lead by example in the covenant of my marriage.”
