According to Raleigh police, they are looking into a fatal event in which a parade float struck a young child in the Raleigh Christmas Parade.
According to police, a preliminary investigation shows that around 10:14 am, a driver of a car in the parade lost control close to the intersection of Boylan Avenue and Hillsborough Street. The car then continued at a slow speed and ran over an 11-year-old girl.

According to many sources, WRAL News has learned the identity of the 11-year-old who passed away after being struck by a pickup truck during this past weekend's Raleigh Christmas Parade.

With CC & Company Dance Complex, Hailey Brooks participated in the parade on Saturday by dancing. A pickup truck that was speeding out of control and had no brakes hit her, killing her.

Where Did Raleigh Christmas Parade Death Happen?
In a news release on Saturday, Raleigh Police stated that the truck's driver "lost control near the intersection of Hillsborough Street and Boylan Avenue on November 19, 2022." That is roughly one block away from the intersection of Hillsborough Street and St. Mary's Street, where the parade route begins. The vehicle had come to a stop on the following Hillsborough Street block, close to the Char Grill restaurant.

Who Was The Driver In Haley Brooks Accident?
Landon C. Glass, who is 20 years old, of Goode, Virginia, was the pickup truck's driver, according to Raleigh police.
Glass was questioned, assisted the police, and was accused of:
Misdemeanor death by motor vehicle
Carrying a firearm in a parade
Improper equipment
Unsafe movement
Careless and reckless driving

The Truck That Killed 11 Year Old Girl Haley Brooks
The truck was a white GMC Denali with several customized modifications. Investigators pulled the vehicle from the street just after dusk on Saturday after investigating it and the associated float at the scene all day. Following the incident, Glass was charged with using faulty brakes that "were inadequate to control the movement of and stop the vehicle," according to his arrest warrant. That supports what bystanders who observed the incident claimed regarding potential brake failure
