Dan Greiner and Lori Greiner have an incredible partnership that many couples in the 21st century can only dream of. So how did it all start? It all started with a chance encounter at a bar called Kincaid’s in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. They immediately developed a friendship that quickly turned into a romantic relationship. The exact year they met or married isn’t known, but by 1996 they were already married, a 2009 Chicago Business publication revealed.

Lori in 1996 decided not to let her ideas go to waste after entering a book she had a similar idea to be featured as a bestseller. She was designing and selling her own costume jewelry at the time.
That same year, she gave birth to the idea of inventing a plastic jewelry holder that could hold 100 pairs of jewelry, and her husband quickly supported her. Thanks to a loan of $300,000, Lori was able to make a prototype. She was able to convince the J. C Penny department store to buy the product, and over the next 18 months it had made her a wealthy woman.
Six years in the business, Dan quit his job as a divisional controller at Bell and Howell Corporation and joined his wife’s company, For Your Ease Only, as vice president and chief financial officer.

In 2009, publications revealed that Dan and Lori work from the same desk in their home. Although Dan is not an inventor, he is an excellent manager. An accountant by training, he takes care of the company’s inventory issues and also oversees packaging, parts and shipping. Lori, on the other hand, handles sales, marketing, creative, and legal. She just runs the business.

They also don’t have kids, but Lori doesn’t have issues with kids though. She revealed in a 2014 interview that she loves children. “…I tell my friends they can leave their babies on my doorstep and I’d love to host them. I love kids!” Lori said.
