Chris Rock set to discuss Will Smith’s Oscars incident in upcoming Netflix stand-up, breaking silence after nearly a year

After almost a year of maintaining silence, Chris Rock is finally set to address the infamous Will Smith’s Oscars slap in his upcoming Netflix special.

Titled “Chris Rock: Selective Outrage,” the show will mark Netflix’s first-ever live stream and is scheduled to air on March 4 at 9:30pm ET.

Rock, aged 58, will be accompanied by Amy Schumer, Jerry Seinfeld, and Leslie Jones during the performance.

‘If you were waiting to see Rock on tour address the infamous Will Smith slap situation… the comedian is waiting to spill his humorous take on it on his live Netflix stand-up special,’ a source close to the broadcast revealed to Page Six.

An insider also mentioned that Rock has been collaborating with ‘veteran comedy writers’ to ensure that his jokes about the incident are ‘solid and funny.’

Another source added: ‘People need to tune in till the last joke, they will not be disappointed.’

The special will be recorded at the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore and will precede the Academy Awards, airing on March 12.

The lineup of comedians for the special includes David Spade, Arsenio Hall, and JB Smoove, with NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar also scheduled to make an appearance.
