Charles Awurum Credits Sam Loco-Efe for Inspiring His Acting Career

By Samuel Coleman

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, popular actor Charles Awurum expressed his views on how comic actors are sometimes perceived as foolish by their fans due to the roles they portray in movies.

According to Awurum, “Many people out there think that acting is easy and something they can easily do. But when they witness the challenges we face, they realize that it is not an easy task.”

He further states, “Additionally, some people judge us based on what they see on television. They perceive us as fools.”

Awurum also mentioned the impact late comic actor Sam Loco-Efe had on his career, saying, “Even though he is no longer with us, I always acknowledge the fact that Sam Loco-Efe inspired me. I was young when I watched him perform during FESTAC 77. Since then, I aspired to become an actor, and by God’s grace, I am where I am today. Directors like Teco Benson and Izu Chukwu have also played a significant role in my success along the way.”
