Casemiro Biography

Even though he became known all over the world to football fans as Casemiro, the player was born Carlos Henrique Casimiro on February 23, 1992 in the Brazilian city of São José dos Campos. This is also where he grew up playing street football. Due to his family’s poverty, Casemiro always stayed overnight with relatives, including his aunt and grandmother, as his house was too small to contain them all.

Before becoming a teenager, he had already worked hard to become one of the best defensive midfielders in the world and at 14 he already had a youth club.

Even though his last name is Casimiro, Casemiro’s name was mistakenly typed on his shirt and he stuck it.

Family

The Brazilian defensive midfielder was raised as the first child of his parents, Magda de Faria Casemiro and Servando Casimero. Like many other Brazilian football stars, Carlos Henrique Casimiro was brought up in a very poor family, mostly by his mother as his father was not there.

As a result, he was forced along with his two younger brothers to take care of himself and rely on what little resources their mother could provide for them.

He got married in 2014 with Anna Mariana Casemiroand together they have a daughter. Anna Mariana is a makeup artist in Brazil. The couple married in Itatiba, Brazil on June 28, 2014, and their first child, a daughter named Sara, arrived in 2016.

The defensive midfielder and Anna Mariana Casemiro are said to have been dating since 2011.

Soccer career

Regarding his career as a professional footballer, Casemiro started his club football as a youth with São Paulo FC. That was in 2002 and he stayed with the club until 2010 when he joined the senior team for the next 3 years. After his time at the Brazilian club, he was loaned to Real Madrid B in 2013. In the same year, after just 15 appearances, he was transferred to the senior team, but the move almost immediately became permanent. In 2014, he was loaned to Porto, only to return to Real Madrid in 2015.

By the end of the 2017/2018 season, he had already recorded 90 games for the club and in doing so, he scored 10 goals even as a defensive midfielder.

Casemiro won La La with the Spaniards. The La Liga title, a Copa del Rey and 4 UEFA Champions League in five years. He also won two UEFA Super Cup and two FIFA Club World Cup matches. Finally, he also has the Spanish Supercopa among his titles.

Carlos Henrique Casimiro made his national debut in 2009 when he played for Brazil U17 team and in 2011 he played for U20 team where he scored 3 goals after 15 games . Also in 2011 he was invited to play for the senior team. Before being called up for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, he had already played 20 games for the team but he is yet to score a goal.

With the national team, he won the South American Youth Championship in 2011 and FIFA U-20 World Cup also in the same year. Moreover, he recorded some successes at the individual level, like being part of the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season in 2017 and the FIFPro World XI Third Team also in 2017.
