Angie Watson was born on June 11th , 1977 in Toronto, Province of Ontario, Canada. The media personality spent her formative years in Toronto and started playing basketball at an early age. She later played high school basketball at the Sir Oliver Mowat Collegiate Institute (SOMCI), where she began for five years. During her time at the institution, Watson averaged 26 points, 10 rebounds and 8 blocks per game. She also helped her school win several trophies including the 1992 Scarborough Championships and the 1993 Toronto Metro Championships.
2. She cut short her professional basketball career due to ongoing injuries.
After her distinguished high school career, AngieWatson moved to the United States of America to attend the University of Georgia. During her four years with The Bulldogs (1996-1999), the Toronto native averaged 7.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game and established herself as a formidable opponent and team leader. Watson recorded collegiate career highs of 19 points, 10 rebounds and four steals as the Bulldogs made the NCAA last four in 1999. She also helped her team win the 2000 SEC Championships.
Angie Watson graduated in 2000 and then moved overseas to join Italian league The Laghi. She spent just one year with the team, during which she averaged 12 points and eight rebounds. Watson first met her husband, Bubba Watson, around 2001/2002. She watched a pickup basketball game at her alma mater while he was one of the players attending the game. During the game, Watson was accidentally knocked over by a teammate and his teammates helped him get back on his feet. The whole episode provided comic relief and the media personality found Bubba laughing with her. She therefore decided to know him better. The two eventually went on a flurry of dates, and later began a relationship. The loved-up couple later tied the knot in September 2004.
